The tragic loss
of Amanda Buckley
this summer has
deeply touched us
all. A 2007
graduate of Palm
Beach Garden High
School, and a player
in our recreational
program from age 6
through 15, Amanda
had her sights set
on playing ball at
St Leo College via a
softball
scholarship.
The passing of
one so young with so
much life ahead is a
an unbearable
hardship for all
that knew her.
The circumstances of
her death only make
her loss that much
more difficult to
accept. She
was a wonderful girl
with the innate
ability to light up
a room and bring a
smile to your face,
but never one as
beautiful as hers.
In honor of her
memory, the Palm
Beach Gardens Youth
Athletic Association,
in cooperation with
Amanda's loving
parents, Barbra and
Tory, have
established a
special Foundation in
her memory,
known as the Amanda
J. Buckley
"Give a Smile
to a Child"
Foundation.
The specific and
primary purpose for
which the foundation
has been organized is to
provide aid,
assistance,
facilities,
educational
opportunities and
support to children
and families who
find themselves in
need due to
tragedies and other
circumstances beyond
their control. The
foundation will
promote and
participate in
worthwhile endeavors
that enhance the
physical and mental
well being of
children and
families. The
foundation will
provide support and
assistance to other
foundations and
charities benefiting
children and
families. The
foundation will
honor and recognize
outstanding children
for their
achievements.
The foundation will
solicit
fund/donations and
perform fundraising
activities.
Individuals and/or
businesses involved
with the Palm Beach
Gardens Youth
Athletic Association
Softball Program are
encouraged to make
donations to the
foundation to assist
with this worthwhile
cause in the name of
one who was close to
many of us and
missed so dearly.
Contributions
should be made
